Where To Get The Best Oil Change In Boston, MA

Oil Change In Boston MA

There are some tidbits of worldly advice, adages, maxims, and etc. that we retain from childhood. Some of my favorites include:

1. Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react,
2. Close the door. What do you live in a barn?,
3. A watched pot never boils, and
4. Change your oil every 3,000 miles or else.

These have been guiding principles for me, which may explain more than a thing or two. The first three seem to hold up to today’s modern, macabre, digital dreamworld; however, the 3,000 mile oil change is now a relic of simpler times.

What Happens After 3,000 Miles

With the latest engine technologies it is no longer necessary to change the oil every 3,000 miles, 5,000 miles or even 7,000 miles. In fact, some vehicles can go 10,000 miles before an oil change. This is great for the convenience of the driver as well as the environment.

But with the increase in mileage there can be a lost connection to a dealership, mechanic, chain or other local shop when it comes to get an Oil Change in Boston.

There are many chains such as Meineke and Jiffy Lube that can handle your oil change rapidly and get you on the road cheaply. But there is something impersonal that reminds me of waiting for deli meat with a paper ticket in hand with no free sample at the end of the line.

There are many modern facilities in the Boston area. From the Kellys, Herb Chambers, Quirks, and IRAs of the world we have certainly have no shortage of massive, modern, expensive dealerships in Boston, MA. These dealerships and many others like them do an excellent job at providing modern amenities and expensive lounges that cater to a certain clientele.

But, to me, a good oil change is something more than bricks, mortar and tile. It is about longevity, reputation, standing in the community, history and people. That is why one of my favorite places for an oil change in boston is Muzi Ford.

This is where you father and grandfather had their oil changed and it still maintains that nostalgic heir. The dealership has been family owned and operated in Needham, MA since 1932 and the people there are great. Muzi is Boston. They still call this place “Muzi Ford City”  I mean check this place out:

So that is my vote for the best oil change in Boston. I know there are many other places to get an oil change but this is my favorite. If you are in the Boston area and in need of an oil change swing by Muzi Ford you won’t regret it.

Independent Automotive Research | Welcome To Railhead Online

Railhead is an idea that I had been toying with for a few months.  The concept: to create an independent, interactive automotive research resource that would be accessible to auto enthusiasts and casual browsers alike. The difficulty was finding the time, energy and motivation to develop the appropriate platform for this journey…I think that I am finally ready to embark.

Railhead Independent Automotive Research
Railhead Automotive Musings

The impetus for railhead came when I was performing automotive research online in anticipation of the purchase of my next car.  During my, somewhat extensive, somewhat lazy, research I found that an independent voice was hard to find. There are so many websites, blogs and review sites that seem to be owned or at least influenced by manufacturers and dealers it can be difficult to find a forum or voice that provides an honest opinion of a model, concept or brand.  Railhead aims to be that voice.

Here we will talk all things GMC, Mazda, Ford, Mercedes, BMW, Chevrolet, Kia, Hyundai, Nissan, Maserati, Bentley, Pontiac, Rolls, Buick, and much more!

I know it is a big responsibility, I know there will be dramatic failures, but I hope that the opportunity to build a candid community of forthright “railheads” focused on independent automotive research and reviews make it worth the time and effort. So shine on railheads like the headlight on a northbound train. I look forward to interacting with you over the next days, months and maybe even years.

Your faithful author,
